Era Murzaku, MD – Biography
Dr. Era Murzaku earned her undergraduate degree from Seton Hall University in New Jersey where she graduated as valedictorian. She completed her medical degree at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. During medical school, she spent time performing melanoma research at New York University, gaining experience in advanced techniques to detect early skin cancer. She completed an internal medicine internship at Pennsylvania Hospital before moving to Dallas for her dermatology residency at UT Southwestern. During her final residency year, she served as chief resident at Parkland Hospital and at the Dallas Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Murzaku has published numerous studies in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, and the American Journal of Public Health. Her work has been featured in the Wall Street Journal and the Dermatology Times.
Dr. Murzaku is passionate about skin cancer detection and treatment, acne/rosacea, complex medical dermatology, and aesthetic dermatology, including neurotoxins and dermal filler. She is also devoted to dermatology education and currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at UT Southwestern, where she teaches residents at Parkland Hospital.
In her free time, Dr. Murzaku enjoys spending time with her husband, an interventional spine doctor in Southlake, and daughter. She also loves travel, trying new restaurants, and spin.
